a girl’s best friend…
I’ve always been envious of people who can keep up with having lots and lots of acquaintances, I imagine it would be great to be able to pick and choose which friend to make plans with and fill up a calender with a different friend for each day of the week. As for me, I’m either not gregarious enough or maybe just incapable of multi-tasking.
To this end, I have one friend (other than my husband, but he doesn’t count). Vicky has been my friend since school, I guess since about 1994.
We’re couldn’t really be more different.
She loves camping and the outdoors life. I’d rather pluck my eyebrows with a pair of pliers.
She works as a carer in an old people’s home… I tried that job once and lasted 2 days.
She doesn’t really ‘get on’ with technology… I’d literally shrivel up without 24hr intravenous access to broadband.
She’s got a string of cub scouts that look up to her… If it were me, I’d take the cub scouts out into the woods and leave them there.
Despite all these differences, we seem to find a common ground most of the time, but there’s one thing about her that really chaps my ass.
I’ve simply never known anyone over the age of 25 with more beautiful skin. Oh, the bitch tans fantastically too.
No portraiture, no cloning, no healing, no nothing. I’m rethinking this whole ‘friend’ thing now.

Oh that first shot is delicious! Gorgeous light and colour. And seriously, I am ROFL at ‘chaps my ass’. LOL.

She really does have perfect skin. BITCH.
What’s worse is that I’m totally premenstrual right now and my face looks like a pizza. No, a pizza has smoother skin than me right now.
Gorgeous shots, as always.

well that is awesome that you can still count on a friend from school. I have people that I talk to but a really close best friend, that would only be my hubby and my mom! Oh and these images are absolutely beautiful and even more wow that there is no work on them! Love the sunfare/backlighting going on!

Oh man Lottie, your comments again make me nearly pee my pants! I love reading your blog! Reading about friendship makes me feel a bit down as I dont have a real close friend here where I live now. When we moved I had to leave my only good and close friend behind and had to find out later, that she did something terrible behind my back.
On the other side, I gained a new best friend. She is not here with me but always there if I need her - my sister!
BTW, she has beautiful skin too AND tans easy! Hmmmmmmmm
I like the pictures you took of your friend, I like the colors and the “flair” which comes across of them.

Lottie. I’ve been checking every day for an update, but then I realized I hadn’t commented on this post yet! Obviously that was what you were waiting for. Now that I’m commenting, you can come back out of hiding
I’m the same as you in terms of friends. I have one best best friend who will be with me till the end, whether she likes it or not. I do have a couple of others who I’m very close to, but no huge groups. No groups at all actually, I’m definitely more of a one-on-one friend. But that’s ok! Your friend is gorgeous (so hot, as my friend and I would say). Awesome shots of her, and I’m super jealous that she’ll let you shoot her.. Mine runs from the camera!
Ok. Now come back, ok? Even if the pictures are of your toenail clippings, it’s better than nothing. Seriously.
