one day in…

… I’m not doing too bad, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t happily rip your arm off from 10 feet away if you were holding a cigarette.

Came across a photographer called Carl Warner today and I’ve fallen in love with his foodscapes… especially the ’salmon sea’ with the pea green boat - too clever. Check him out and fix me up with some cool linkage of your own if something’s caught your eye recently. I need LOTS of distractions atm!

Love from me xx

  2. Oh Lottie! I’m just catching up on your quitting smoking posts - and, let me tell you, I KNOW YOUR PAIN!! I had to quit cold turkey when I found out I was pregnant with Xan… it was horrible. I mean, I loved my smokes. Just seeing those pictures… ah well, it’s still hard. But, I really do feel worlds better for not smoking. If you ever need someone to commiserate with… I’m here for you!

  3. Good luck! Congrats on your first day… just focus on 1 day at a time. I know how hard it is, my parents smoked as long as I remember(my dad was up to 2+ packs a day!)& they tried everything; the gum, the patch, some crazy pinchy thing in your ear… nothing worked. Then they saw some ad to get hypnotized to quit. I thought they were completely insane but it worked! This Wednesday is their 2yrs of non-smoking. They say that once you get past the physical withdrawal, it’s mind over matter. I have faith in you!

  4. Wish I was there to hold your hand through this giving up smoking.
As for Carl warner-don’t you find people like that AMAZING. Can you imagine what is going on inside their brains?
    Thanks for the link.
And keep up the good work-I can only imagine how hard it is.

  5. Thanks ladies!

I’ve just gone cold turkey Leigh, well.. I bought a plastic tube thing painted to look like a cigarette which I’ve been holding… but it’s got no nicotine in it and smells a bit like mackerel for some reason. The gum is what I’m gonna go for if I think I need some extra help.

Meghan… *whinge*….. *sigh*….. *throws self dramatically down and sighs again*…. how long till it stops hurting? Can I borrow Xan please?

April… your parents are an inspiration, thank you for sharing their story… and I totally agree with the mind over matter AND therein lies the hard part!

Kim, thank you lovely. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to swap brains… just for a little while… you could like, go to the brain library… browse the photography section and live in someone else’s mind for a day or two. Weird, slightly scary… but ultimately cool.
